Jena

This past Saturday, I visited the town of Jena, which has a population of 100K, and is about 160km east of Dresden. It's located in the state of Thuringia (as opposed to Saxony, where Dresden is). A coworker of mine was throwing a party at his house Jena. It sits on a hillside and has a beautiful view.

I caught a ride with a coworker, Paul, who also likes to drive fast on the Autobahn. The speedometer reads 200km/h. Apparently he had the pedal all the way down to the floor. It's amazing how fast a little Nissan can go.
We started the day off with a tour of the city. It's quite a nice city.

It was really hot that day. Over 30C.

Barbequeing German style! The pork was marinated in a beer based marinade for 24h. Then it was basted with beer while it was cooking over a charcoal fire. It was delicious.

We had a great time. Good food, good beer, good company.
