Biking to Pirna

I decided to take a bike ride this Sunday along the Elbe river towards the Czech Republic. I ended up biking 40km round trip to a town called Pirna that's 20km away. Maybe I'll bike to the Czech border some weekend. It's probably about a 50 to 60km bike ride to the border, which isn't that bad. And I can always take the train back to Dresden.

Can you believe that Bunte Republik Neustadt was here last week? It looks so different.

I don't quite understand why there's sailboats on the river. There's no large body of water that you can sail on nearby, as far as I know.

What's great is that there's really nice bike paths all along the river to the Czech border.

Entering Pirna, leaving Heidenau.

It was a fairly quiet town, but charming nonetheless.

The typical clean looking German town, with the nice church (or castle) in the background. I really didn't check out the city that much, since it was already pretty late.

I was impressed that a small town could look so nice.

A church? in the main square.

A restaurant with outdoor tables in the main square.

This is definitely a church.

Lots of nice churches... that's one thing you can't see in Canada. :(
